Ocean's of Love

Most of the prints that I do, are my own work.  Funnily enough, I think I can't draw.  I am certainly no artist.  I guess that is just my own being "down on myself" thing.  Takes me back to high school art class.... and then all the way through Fashion School.  I never thought I could draw, but somehow I got by.... and actually I got great marks! Introduce yourself: I’m Jen from Nautical Wheeler Jewelry and I handcraft nautical and beach inspired jewelry for mermaids and salty souls. Where do you work from? I work from home...

From Dawn...."I wore one of your dresses in Hopetown Abaco last week and more people wanted to know where I found such thin cotton. I told every person West Indies Wear".  Here is what Hopetown Abaco looks like.... From Cindy... "I am enjoying my 2nd day in Yosemite National Park and sitting on my porch next to the roaring falls wearing a West...

As I am starting my preparations for Surf Expo (our biggest show of the year) I had a flash back to several years ago, when I was a buyer preparing to travel to the summer trade shows.  I remember the preparations for a buyer to be far more challenging than they are for me now as a vendor. Although I started West Indies Wear in 2006, I was running my business at night and weekends only for the first few years.  From 2007 to 2011 I worked as General Manager and Head Buyer for a chain of gift shops in S.Maarten.  The founders of this company had sold after nearly 40 years of hard work, building up their little gift...
